"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." - John Lennon

In 2017, I hit my quarter-life crisis a bit early. I graduated from The University of North Texas in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Converged Broadcast Media in hopes of moving to Los Angeles to pursue entertainment hosting. And I did! I covered red carpets for iHeart Radio Events, numerous award shows, and interviewed so many A-List celebrities and influencers. I was producing my own shows and reporting celebrity news on the daily. It was everything I ever dreamed of - but I wasn't happy.

It wasn't that I was ungrateful - I felt SO blessed for every opportunity I was offered. But I felt like I wasn't following my life's purpose and I felt slighted when I constantly heard, "well, you should be happy!" So I prayed, talked to my parents, and prayed some more. Then one day my friend invited me to come to church with her. I didn't have a church home in LA, so I was definitely open to visiting a new place to hear The Word. When I tell y'all the message that night was everything I needed to hear, it was everything I needed to hear! It was that night that I realized I had been living my entire life in a box of what I thought it should be. I was limiting myself and my own potential! It was then that I decided to quit my job and pursue everything that I've ever wanted in life.

That's when Yaaas Girrrl was born. I wanted to share my journey of self-love, dream chasing, and happiness! I want to empower other women who are tired of doing what everyone else thinks they should do; women who are going against the grain and putting themselves first! I want women to be able to look at themselves and be proud of what they've done and what they continually do! Instead of doubting ourselves, second guessing our decisions, it's time we look at ourselves and say, "Yaaas Girrrl!"
